Over the next few weeks I’ll be working on sites for two of my stand-up comedy friends – Lou Angelwolf and Steve Arik.

I’m learning how to add text shadows. It’s a jquery plugin. Gives the entire site a little depth.

I’ve created a marketing feedback loop!

I added a facebook page “Like Box” to the bottom of my web site. The like box reveals anything posted to my facebook business page. But because of RSS Graffiti (please read earlier post) the business page shows any posts that I make to my site – like this one! Wooohoooo!

I just set up RSS Graffiti with facebook. What that means is that every time I create a new post here on my web site it will automagically show up on my facebook page.

I can make it show up on any facebook page that I maintain (profile, groups, business page, fan page, etc.) but for now I only want it to show up on my business page.

I added the Subscribe2 plugin. I like this plugin. It’s simple, easy to set up and anyone who wants to get an email every time I post something can get one.

The emails that people receive are compliant with ‘Unsubscribe’ procedures.

The only drawback is that it takes the email only. It would be nice if it also required a name. Then it could be used for marketing blasts as well.

I was having the oddest problem with my layouts. It seemed that Safari and Chrome were having a 1px offset with the background image that runs up and down the page. Very confusing. Then I found this:

Thanks for your fine works guys. I looked, briefly, I couldn’t find the author to that article. It fixed my problem so thanks again.

Mike sent me some cool backgrounds for the header, body and footer. We even got the buttons looking cool this time.

I’m working hard on getting the new site up and running. I don’t have may graphics yet, but it’s coming along.
